Pastillage Box

This was an assignment, but I decided to post it because it took a lot of time and was rather fun. The box is made out of pastillage, which is a sugar based dough that dries out to create hard, but rather brittle pieces of sugar. Mainly used for showpieces. The flowers are gumpaste, which was rolled fondant and tylose powder. Box was glued with royal icing.



I have started this because I have always loved writing. It is a passion. But not as strong of a passion as I have for baking.┬áThat is why I want to share a little piece of both with the world. I know there are many blogs like this out there, and I am just hoping that maybe mine will stand out. So here marks the start of my journey, into my future as a Pastry Chef.
